President Joe Biden nominated David Samuel Johnson to serve as inspector general for the Treasury Department Inspector General for Tax Administration, the White House announced Tuesday.
Johnson, who will need to be confirmed by the Senate, comes from the US Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General where he is the assistant inspector general for investigations and is a career member of the Senior Executive Service.
He follows longtime TIGTA Inspector General J. Russell George, who served in the position for nearly two decades and whose death was announced in January.
