Tom West, who worked in the Treasury Department in the Biden, Obama and Trump administrations, will join Capitol Tax Partners as a partner in August, the lobbying firm said Monday.
West worked on implementation of some of the biggest recent tax packages, including the Democrats’ 2022 tax-and-climate law and the GOP’s 2017 tax law. West joins the firm—whose partners include Katherine Mongé, a former policy adviser for ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Chris Javens, a former GOP Senate Finance tax counsel—ahead of expiration of much of the Republican law in 2025.
