Legislation that would double the state-and-local tax deduction cap for joint filers is expected to get a procedural House vote Feb. 14, according to Democrats.
The House will vote on whether to allow the bill from Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) to come to the floor for a vote, according to House Democratic Whip Katherine Clark’s (D-Mass.) preview of the week. The legislation would raise the cap to $20,000 for joint filers who make under $500,000 a year for only the 2023 tax year.
