Rick Tariq Rahim was sentenced to 78 months in prison for tax crimes and wire fraud, the Justice Department announced Friday.
According to the DOJ, Rahim owned several businesses, including laser tag facilities and an Amazon reseller. From 2015 to 2021, he failed to pay employee withholding taxes or file required tax returns. He also filed personal tax returns from 2010 to 2012 without paying taxes owed, and submitted false statements to the Internal Revenue Service, omitting valuable assets when they attempted to collect.
