House leaders will announce soon a floor vote on repeal of the Obamacare “Cadillac Tax” in the July 15 week, a Connecticut representative said.

“Not many people still think it’s a good idea,” said Rep. Joe Courtney (D-Conn.) Friday, referring to the Affordable Care Act’s 40% tax on the cost of coverage that exceeds certain amounts.

Supporters are hoping to pass a bill (H.R. 748) to repeal the tax using a parliamentary special procedure that would permit them to approve it without offsetting its cost in lost revenue, Courtney said.
