California Lawmakers Cancel Film and TV Tax Credit Bill (1)

Lawmakers uncertain about a union-backed bill to offer an unusual tax credit to media production companies dropped the effort to pass it in the final hours of the California legislative session Monday.

Bill authors Sen. Elena Durazo (D) and Assemblyman Ian Calderon (D) said they want to keep working on the proposal and reintroduce it when lawmakers convene for their next session in January 2021. Calderon is not seeking reelection.
