Canada’s tax authority has the power to compel information on a wealthy family known for building megamalls from the family’s accounting firm, a Canadian court ruled.
The Federal Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal Tuesday by accounting firm Zeifmans LLP regarding an April 2021 ruling that allowed the Canada Revenue Agency’s request for information on Ghermezian family members—clients of the firm.
