Carbon Taxes Likely to be Key Concern in Canada Election

Carbon taxes are likely to make the biggest splash among tax proposals in Canada’s upcoming election.

Opposition parties in New Brunswick, Ontario, and Alberta won power over the past 15 months in provincial elections while campaigning against the national pollution charge.

The federal Conservatives, neck-and-neck with the ruling Liberals in many polls, are increasing their attacks in the run-up to the election, which is likely to be held Oct. 21.
