Social Security Head to Oversee IRS
The IRS has a new CEO to run day-to-day operations, coming as the government shutdown shows no immediate signs of ending and the IRS is planning to furlough nearly half of its staff.
Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano also will serve at the IRS in the newly created position of CEO, the Treasury Department said in a release Monday. It’s the latest twist for the agency where there’s been significant upheaval among top brass this year.
