China will increase tax levies on products including materials used in soda drinks, plastics, and as components in electric vehicle batteries, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement posted on its Website Saturday.
- The changes are made as part of an annual adjustments of the country’s overall import tax system
- Import tax rates will be lowered on products including automatic transmissions for special-purpose vehicles, such as fire trucks and emergency repair vehicles
- The changes will take effect on Jan. 1
