A coalition of environmental advocacy and utility groups is suing the Treasury Department and IRS over guidance that tightened restrictions on how wind and solar projects can qualify for energy tax credits.
Led by the Oregon Environmental Council, the lawsuit filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia said that there is no legal rationale to impose the restrictions on wind and solar projects but not on other energy sources such as geothermal or hydropower.
