Colorado Extends Income Tax Credit for Child Care Contributions

The Colorado Governor signed a law extending for an additional 10 years the availability of the state income tax credits allowed to taxpayers who makes a qualifying monetary contribution to promote child care in the state equal to 50 percent of the total value of the contribution, not to exceed $100,000. The law takes effect Aug. 12, and extends tax credit eligibility through income tax years prior to Jan. 1, 2038, with a sunset date of Jan. 1, 2045. [H.B. 1004, enacted 05/28/26]
