Colorado Sends Governor Bill to Allow Pay for Student Athletes

Colorado would become the second state to allow student athletes to be compensated under a bill headed for the desk of Gov. Jared Polis.

Its pay-the-players law would take effect in 2023, the same as California’s law.

The state Senate on Thursday voted 32 to 0 to accept House amendments to the bill (S.B. 123) and clear it for the governor’s consideration.
