Congress Urged to Act on Low-Income Housing Tax Credit This Year

Over 2,400 public and private entities dealing with affordable housing are calling on Congress to include an expansion of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit in any year-end tax package, according to a letter the group sent Monday to House and Senate leaders.

A campaign by A Call to Invest in Our Neighborhoods (ACTION) said Congress needs to reinstate a 2018 increase in the amount of credits states can award, a provision that expired at the end of 2021.
