A Maryland attorney sentenced to 13 years in jail for defrauding her clients owes the IRS hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes and penalties, according to a lawsuit the Justice Department filed Wednesday.
Sari Bloch and her husband Robert have tax debts dating back to 2011 that now total more than $400,000, and the government is asking a federal court in Maryland to force them to pay. Bloch, also known as Sari Kurland, is currently in prison after pleading guilty earlier this year to one count of theft and 15 counts of misappropriation by a fiduciary.
