A court ruling that struck down New York’s requirement for opioid manufacturers to contribute to state opioid-related services was invalid because the court didn’t have jurisdiction to hear the case, the Second Circuit ruled.

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York previously ruled that New York’s Opioid Stewardship Act—which was designed to raise $100 million a year for six years beginning with sales in January of 2017—must be entirely struck down.
