Democrats Push Tax Bill for Low-Income Workers, Renewable Energy (1)

House Democrats released a package of several dozen tax cuts for low-income workers, biodiesel producers, the wind energy industry and LGTBQ couples that will kick-start discussions in Congress about a slew of potential tax cuts that have been stalled for months.

Disagreements between Republicans and Democrats on how to fund the cuts will limit how many of the tax breaks will become law. Democrats have discussed an increase to the recently reduced corporate tax rate, a non-starter for the Republican-controlled Senate, but that increase is not included in the package released Tuesday.
