House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal is asking the Treasury Department and Social Security Administration to find a way for seniors, veterans and others not required to file tax returns to get their stimulus payments without needing to file additional paperwork.
- “My fellow Ways and Means Democrats and I have been inundated with calls from concerned senior citizens regarding their ability to receive the economic impact payments,” Neal said in a statement
- NOTE: IRS said yesterday that “people who typically do not file a tax return will need to file a simple tax return to receive an economic impact payment”
