Denmark is moving ahead with a plan to reduce food taxation by up to 6 billion Danish krone ($961 million) annually, under a broad political agreement announced Wednesday.
The announcement launches work on an effective, easy-to-administer model for either lowering value-added tax on all food or eliminating VAT on fruit and vegetables, according to a press release.
Alternative models for select food groups can also be examined as part of the work, the agreement said.
