Deputy Leader Steps In as Acting Chief of IRS Watchdog Agency

Longtime Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George is out of office indefinitely following a recent medical emergency.

Heather Hill, who was deputy inspector general for audit and has been at the agency for over a decade, is serving as acting inspector general at the watchdog agency, a Treasury official confirmed Wednesday. The agency didn’t provide further details on George’s condition.
