DHS Vendors in California Billed $4.5 Billion in Work in FY 2025

More than 800 contractors that won billions of dollars in business with the Homeland Security Department in California last year are under pressure from state legislators seeking to impose financial penalties for doing business with the agency.

California-based DHS procurement spending — which tripled year-over-year to a record $4.5 billion in fiscal 2025 — was largely directed to 11 companies that each received more than $50 million. Together they accounted for nearly nine of every 10 DHS dollars spent in California last year, according to a Bloomberg Government analysis.
