Doctor Jailed for Contempt Says He Did All to Free Swiss Funds

A doctor incarcerated for tax avoidance asked to be released from custody arguing he has made diligent efforts to repatriate the money without success.

James Kelly Jr. filed an emergency motion in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan to lift the order of contempt against him and release him from custody. He said he’d “taken all necessary steps” to do so after exhausting efforts to repatriate what the court ruled he owes.
