Eaton, US Grapple in Final Stages of Foreign Worker Records Suit

Power management business Eaton Corp. shouldn’t be allowed to skirt an IRS summons seeking information on its Irish employees, the US government told an Ohio federal court.

The brief filed by the US Monday pushes back on Eaton’s late-stage bid to avoid disclosing the performance evaluations of certain foreign employees.

The IRS sought to examine Eaton’s employee evaluations as part of its transfer pricing inquiry into the business because the agency says those records likely contain details showing the extent to which Eaton controlled certain property after a transfer.
