Ethanol Jet Fuel, Airplane Parts Plants Seek Texas Tax Breaks

Two projects related to the aviation industry are the first to apply for Texas subsidies through the state’s overhauled property tax break program.

Summit Next Gen LLC, a potentially $1 billion-plus sustainable aviation fuel production facility, and Bell Textron Inc., a proposed large-scale advanced manufacturing operation producing aircraft components, have each pledged to invest the required minimum of $200 million and to provide at least 75 jobs in exchange for 10 years of relief from half of the maintenance and operations portion of their school district property tax bills.
