EU Commission Pushes Poland to Fix Digital Platform Tax Rules

The European Commission has opened an infringement procedure against Poland for incorrectly implementing EU tax transparency rules for digital platform operators.

Poland has two months to address alleged shortcomings that let non‑EU platform operators avoid registration and reporting without their home jurisdiction having equivalent tax information‑exchange deals with all relevant EU member countries.

This prevents “the proper integration of the EU system within the global system of OECD Model Rules for Reporting by Platform Operators with respect to Sellers in the Sharing and Gig Economy,” the commission said in its Thursday announcement of the June infringements package.
