EU countries are no closer to revising value-added tax rules on imported goods even as a broader overhaul of the bloc’s customs rules took shape.
“Many delegations expressed concerns about the robustness” of the EU’s platform to collect VAT on imported goods, known as the import one-stop shop, which some countries said could be susceptible to fraud, according to a stocktake report of tax issues published by the Economic and Financial Affairs Council on Friday.
