The European Commission released baseline figures Wednesday for calculating an imported good’s carbon border levy in cases where specific information on greenhouse gas emissions isn’t available.
The regulation lists thousands of default values for estimating the emissions of manufactured goods produced overseas. The values are based on the emissions intensity for the same product in the EU.
