EV Makers Urge Canada to Boost Aid Beyond Proposed Tax Credit

Electric vehicle makers in Canada are urging the federal government in Ottawa to boost more incentives than just proposed tax credits to help draw cash into the sector amid a growing trade war with the US.

President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada and threats of further trade actions have undercut the potential impact of the country’s proposed 10% EV supply chain investment tax credit, major business groups said. Canada must broaden industry supports to lure EV companies into building facilities, they said.
