EY Australia to Review Firm Culture After Employee Death

Ernst & Young LLP’s Australian arm said Monday that it would conduct a top-to-bottom workplace review, after the death of an employee led to complaints about bullying and renewed questions about toxic cultures at large accounting firms.

The firm has launched “a wide-ranging, independent culture review of EY Australia following the recent tragic loss of one of the firm’s audit colleagues,” it said in an emailed statement. The review will be led by Elizabeth Broderick, the former Australian sex discrimination commissioner.
