A top bankruptcy judge at the center of an ethics storm said Sunday he is resigning after the Fifth Circuit issued a formal misconduct complaint against him.

Judge David R. Jones of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas has come under fire for failing to disclose that an attorney at top bankruptcy firm Jackson Walker LLP, Elizabeth Freeman, was his live-in girlfriend.
