Kashi Way became the first US Tax Court judge nominated by President Joe Biden to be confirmed to its 19-seat bench, as the Senate Finance Committee primed the judge confirmation pump with three more nominees.
Way, a long-time Joint Committee on Taxation staffer, cleared the Senate 79-16 on Thursday. Fellow nominee Adam Landy’s confirmation vote is set for Monday evening when senators return to Washington.
The Finance Committee also voted to advance a second group of three nominees—Cathy Fung, Benjamin A. Guider III, and Jeffrey S. Arbeit—ahead to a Senate floor vote.
