Florida DOR Issues Monthly Sales and Use Tax Due Date Reminder

The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) March 6 issued a reminder that the monthly sales and use tax returns for February are due on or before March 20. Taxpayers must file a tax return even if they don’t owe tax. The DOR also stated: 1) paper returns and payments must be postmarked or hand-delivered by March 20; 2) electronically filed returns must be initiated and confirmed by March 19; 3) tax returns and payments sent after the due date are subject to penalties and interest; and 4) failure to receive a due date reminder isn’t grounds for a late-filing penalty ...
