The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) proposed amendments to the rules regarding insurance policy surcharge and related regulations for excise tax purposes. The proposal: 1) removes unnecessary references to specific sections of Florida Statutes; 2) updates on how to obtain forms from the DOR; 3) removes an outdated effective date; 4) clarifies the annual statement required by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation; and 5) updates reporting line numbers, and a requirement for insurers to file an annual tax return.
