Florida Homeowner Urges Justices to Take Tax Foreclosure Case

A taxpayer told the US Supreme Court it should revive his lawsuit accusing a Florida county of committing an unconstitutional taking by tax foreclosing his home without paying him the excess value of the property.

The Eleventh Circuit mistakenly applied the comity doctrine here, which dictates that federal courts shouldn’t disrupt state tax administration, Robert Turner’s petition for a writ of certiorari said.
