A gaming compact allowing the Seminole Tribe of Florida to offer online sports betting can proceed, the D.C. Circuit said, punting the question about online betting from nontribal lands to the state’s courts.
The Friday opinion reverses a ruling from the US District Court for the District of Columbia holding that the compact violated the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, which mandates that bettors must be located on tribal lands.
