Ford Says Chinese IP Licensing Should Be Allowed for EV Credits

The Ford Motor Co. urged Treasury and the Department of Energy to allow companies licensing Chinese intellectual property to be eligible for the clean vehicle credit under the Inflation Reduction Act.

The agencies are mulling guidance on the “foreign entity of concern” provision—highlighting investments in a facility that recently came under fire from House Republicans for its partnership with a Chinese battery maker.
