Former IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig Joins Chamberlain Hrdlicka

Former IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig is joining law firm Chamberlain Hrdlicka, according to a Monday announcement.

Appointed by former president Donald Trump, Rettig oversaw the IRS until his term ended in 2022. Doug O’Donnell then served as acting commissioner before current leader Danny Werfel took over the agency.

Rettig will join the tax controversy and litigation practice at Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Aughtry, which has offices in Atlanta, Houston, Philadelphia and San Antonio. Tom Cullinan, who served as Rettig’s counselor and acting chief of staff at the IRS, joined the firm’s Atlanta office last April.
