EU representatives on Tuesday will discuss a joint paper by France and the Netherlands that criticizes people moving their residence for favorable tax regimes.
In the paper, seen by Bloomberg, the countries propose adding harmful tax planning done by individuals to the list of practices that EU countries currently tackle jointly.
“We observe a growing trend where individuals, particularly those with significant mobile assets, are able to shape their tax residence in a way that allows them to benefit from favorable tax regimes offered by other jurisdictions,” the paper read.
