An Indian court on Thursday quashed a tax demand of 210 billion rupees, or $ 2.6 billion, on Indian gaming company Gameskraft Technologies Pvt. Ltd. for alleged nonpayment of goods and services taxes.
The ruling comes as a relief to India’s growing online gaming industry, which has been opposing what it sees as moves to charge debilitating rates of tax paid by gambling businesses.
