The upper house of the German parliament approved Friday amendments to domestic legislation implementing the global minimum tax for large corporate groups.
The amendments incorporate the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s administrative guidelines of Dec. 15, 2023, May 24, 2024, and Jan. 13, 2025.
They include clarifications of the tax treatment of transparent and hybrid entities; additional rules for the recognition and reconciliation of deferred taxes; and adjustments to transitional safe harbors designed to temporarily ease compliance burdens, among other updates.
