Germany MOF Announces Tax Aid Measures Due to Coronavirus

The German Ministry of Finance April 4 announced tax aid measures for companies and employees due to the coronavirus pandemic. The announcements include: 1) tax payment deferrals upon request for affected companies until Dec. 31; 2) companies can adjust prepayment and scheduled corporate tax payments; 3) tax debt enforcement proceedings are waived until the end of the year; and 4) the tax and social contribution-free additional benefit of up to 1,500 euros (US$1,619) for employees between March 1 and Dec. 31.
