Global Tax Chiefs Target 5 in Sales Suppression Software Probe

A global tax enforcement task force arrested five individuals following a probe into the creation of sales suppression software sold internationally.

The probe, executed by the Joint Chiefs of Global Task Enforcement, or J5, alleged five individuals from the United Kingdom created software designed to allow businesses to hide transactions at point of sale and reroute credit card payments from the transactions to an offshore account, according to a J5 news release Friday.
