House Republicans are pushing to roll back funding for the Inflation Reduction Act’s energy tax credits, as the GOP ramps up oversight on the incentives and faces down the debt limit deadline.

With talks progressing on potential GOP budget items and demands to raise the debt limit, some members say the funds allocated for the energy tax credits should be a target. Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee said rolling back the money—or at least freezing the funds at the Congressional Budget Office’s original scores—is on the table in conversations on spending cuts.
