Senator Sues Booz Allen Over Tax Leak

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) is suing Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. for alleged damages caused by the company and its former IRS contractor when thousands of private tax returns were linked to the media.

In the complaint, Scott accuses the company of “systemic failure” to protect his private information. Charles Littlejohn, a former Booz Allen employee who was working as an IRS contractor, leaked tax information of wealthy Americans to the New York Times and ProPublica, which reported on the data. Littlejohn has pleaded guilty to leaking the returns.
