Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley said he is going to look for every opportunity to try and pass legislation on tax breaks known as extenders, given that the provisions aren’t likely to be included in a spending bill expected to be passed by Congress this week.
“The sooner the better. But it’s got to be a separate piece of legislation. It’s got to be something the House sends us,” Grassley, an Iowa Republican, told reporters Feb. 13. Bills raising revenue must originate in the House.
