Former heads of state from across the globe called on Group of 20 country leaders to back a proposal for a global minimum wealth tax on the world’s wealthiest individuals.
“Across the world and political spectrum, taxing the ultra-rich enjoys consistent popular support, even among the ultra-rich themselves,” the group wrote in a letter released Thursday. “The leadership of the G20 was vital to securing a global deal for a minimum tax on corporations. Now it’s time to do the same for the ultra-rich.”
