Head of IRS Tax Pro Ethics Office Wants to Revise Conduct Rules

The new leader of the IRS’s Office of Professional Responsibility wants to update rules dictating the ethical conduct of tax professionals practicing before the agency.

The rules, known as Circular 230, were most-recently changed in 2014. Those rules are out-of-date because they don’t take into account several court rulings on the issue.
