HILL TAX BRIEFING: GOP’s Scott Revises Oft-Criticized Tax Plan

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) on Thursday announced changes to his proposed 12-point plan for a Republican Congress, which the White House has used to attack Republicans ahead of the midterms.

Scott’s original plan, released earlier this year, called for “all Americans” to pay “some income tax to have skin in the game.”

Republicans in Washington largely disavowed that proposal, but that hasn’t stopped the Biden administration from hitting the GOP over what it described as a plan to raise taxes on working families.
