HILL TAX BRIEFING: House Dems Float $1 Billion IRS Funding Boost

House Democrats are aiming to give the Internal Revenue Service another sizable budget boost in fiscal 2023, although not as large as the increase sought by President Joe Biden.

The House appropriations package, released Wednesday, calls for the IRS to receive $13.6 billion for the IRS, a $1 billion increase from its current funding level. The agency’s enforcement budget would see a $682 million increase under the bill.
