HILL TAX BRIEFING: Key Swing Vote Sinema Agrees to Tax Outline

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), who has resisted proposed tax rate increases on individuals and corporations, has agreed to a broad outline of policies to raise revenue to offset the cost of President Joe Biden’s economic agenda, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

Sinema will support plans to raise revenue from domestic corporations, multinationals, and the wealthy, as well as increased tax enforcement, according a person familiar with the matter. Her support is vital in the 50-50 Senate, with every Republican likely to oppose efforts to advance a tax-and-spend package through the budget reconciliation process.
